How to file a report

The heart of NOLAServeUS. From tapping the Report tab to submission — here's the whole thing, in five steps. It takes about a minute.

The Report screen with the grid of issue categories
1

Open Report and pick the issue

Tap the Report tab (the ⊕ in the bottom bar), then choose what's wrong from the grid — pothole, streetlight, flooding, illegal dumping, and more. NOLAServeUS automatically routes it to the right city department.

2

Describe it and set severity

Optionally pick a sub-type (like “single pothole” or “cluster”) and set how bad it is — Minor, Moderate, or Severe. You'll also see the department it routes to and the response target.

3

Add photos

Snap or attach up to four photos. It's optional, but photos speed up verification — a neighbor can confirm your report at a glance, which is what gets it delivered to the city faster.

4

Set the location

Type the street address or drag the pin on the map to the exact spot. This is what puts your report in the right place on the neighborhood map — and in the right council district.

The Submit button on the report screen
5

Submit — and watch it work

Tap Submit. Your report goes on the map and into the neighborhood feed instantly. Once a neighbor verifies it, it's handed to the city's 311 system with a tracking number — and you can follow every update until it's fixed.

That's it. About a minute, and it's on the record.
