Child Safety Standards
NOLA ServeUS, published by PennTech LLC · Last updated September 2026
NOLA ServeUS is a civic-engagement app for adult residents of New Orleans. We have a
zero-tolerance policy toward child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child
sexual abuse material (CSAM). This page describes our standards and how we enforce them.
Our zero-tolerance policy
We strictly prohibit any content, conduct, or communication on NOLA ServeUS that sexualizes,
exploits, endangers, or abuses a minor, including CSAM, grooming, sextortion, trafficking, or the
solicitation of minors. Violations result in immediate content removal, account termination, and
reporting to the appropriate authorities.
How we prevent CSAE
- Not directed at children. The app is intended for residents aged 13 and older,
and its features (civic reporting, neighborhood posts) are not designed for or targeted to children.
- Content moderation. Every post, comment, and message can be reported/flagged;
multiple flags automatically hide an item, and trained staff review a moderation queue and can hide
content and suspend or permanently ban accounts.
- Automated photo scanning. Uploaded images are scanned automatically, and content
that fails review is removed from the app and its storage.
- User controls. Users can block and mute other users to stop unwanted contact.
- Identity accountability. Accounts are tied to a verified phone number, deterring
anonymous abuse.
Reporting a concern
- In the app: tap the ••• menu on any post, comment, or message and choose
Report / Flag.
- By email: rpierre@penntech.io —
our designated child-safety point of contact.
- Emergencies: if a child is in immediate danger, contact local law enforcement
by calling 911.
Legal compliance & reporting to authorities
We comply with all applicable child-safety laws. Consistent with U.S. law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A), we
report apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC)
through its CyberTipline (report.cybertip.org) and cooperate
with law enforcement and regional and national authorities as required.
